I have had an interest in GMK Redacted since the original group buy back in 2020 (Dixie Mech) so imagine how I felt getting back into the hobby and seeing that not only did it take forever to arrive due to COVID but it was also still available. I got to skip the GB phase entirely :-)
It's what I expected it to be color and design wise and I bought this to run on a board I have on order that hasn't arrived yet. I can't say how well it will work out for the look I'm going for but even if it doesn't match as much as I am hoping it will I will use it on a different build.
A note on color, if you're reading the description carefully you'll see that this set is actually a really light grey, not BoW like it looks. In person it appears to be white, in the same way that a wall that is creme colored may appear white, or yellow or even grey depending on lighting.
The best way to describe the color is it appears white and yet, looks like a very lightly roasted marshmallow under accurate (high CRI) light as you near the edges or view it from different angles. You will need it next to a very pure white to notice they are not white or in indirect light or off angle light to notice the grey-ness of them. I like them because they are unique and nicer than the dime-a-dozen black on white sets that are everywhere now.
The only reason these are not 5 stars is because GMK packaging leaves a lot to be desired. Lots of keycaps were on rows where they didn't belong or flipped upside down and cheaper sets easily avoid these kinds of problems. The set itself is really nice though and even if/when the redactions wear off it will still be cooler than a BoW set to me.
